'' This training is required by all firearm license applicants in accordance with the Firearms Act 1996, Security Industry applicants, Recreational shooters, Target Shooters and Primary Producers.
Students can enrol in this program only if:
they have a letter from Tasmania Police (Firearms Services) authorising them to enrol on a Firearm Safety Course, or
a current Tasmanian Firearms Licence, or
a current Tasmanian Minors Permit
To obtain the Tasmania Police authorisation letter, applicants must first lodge an application for a firearms licence with Service Tasmania who will then forward it to Tasmania Police (Firearms Services).
