The program’s major strengths come from a focus on: thinking strategically; addressing problems from a new point of view; challenging established practices and norms of industrial behaviour; developing innovative approaches; understanding how to manage an ever-changing technology base; and developing a systems approach to problem and/or opportunity definition.

The Master of Engineering Management by coursework specifically aims to prepare students for leadership roles in the management of engineering and technology-based organisations. It challenges students to demonstrate that they can meet the increasing demands by industry, government and the community for knowledgeable, creative and responsible leadership. The program provides opportunities for students to develop an understanding of the many facets of contemporary engineering management and the impact of new technology and technological change on engineering and technology-based organisations.

The program can be tailored to meet individual needs and to follow and develop specific personal interests. Case studies, including the development of new examples based on individual experiences and current research, are extensively used throughout the program.
