'' The Foundation Diploma is a generalist year in screen arts designed to develop curiosity, creativity and imagination, and general cinematic and interactive story-telling skills. Teaching is conducted via a series of practical conceptual/ideas-based workshop cycles and is accompanied by a grounding in professional practice which provides an opportunity to make projects, alone or with fellow students.

By the end of this course students will have had to opportunity to:

Explore the key concepts and ideas in screen production through practically-based workshops
Work in teams with other students on exercises and mini-productions
Learn how to apply the tools of screen storytelling to generate imaginative and compelling screen stories
Learn how to discuss and analyse screen productions
Explore and understand professional work practices in screen production
Pre-requisites

There are no pre-requisites for this course.

This course is full time.

Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated creative potential as evident in portfolio
Evidence of ability to complete complex tasks
Evidence of original creative thinking
Tasks to be completed as part of the application process

Set Task 1: Write an outline of your creative work and experience (in no more than one page or 300 words)
Set Task 2: Tell a story based on 5 photographs included in the application form (in no more than 500 words)
