Course Description:

'' This intensive one year course enables students to gain key directing skills and put them into practice across a range of forms and genres, including documentary and drama.

Students are encouraged to build a course that fits their passions, skills and needs through a structure that allows each student to create their personal specialist pathway by a combination of core and elective subjects, including subjects from new Graduate Diplomas in Animation Directing and in Game Design, and then put that into practice.

The course offers a unique mix of theory and practice developed and taught by industry experts mixing classwork, workshops and production opportunities in a creative multi-disciplinary environment.

By the end of the course students will have had the opportunity to:

Acquire and put into practice the core skills of a director in any medium, form or genre.
Acquire specialist skills through a range of specialist electives.
Explore the relationship between ideas and realisation, and put that understanding into practice.
Explore latest practice and theory with high level practitioner-teachers across drama, documentary, factual, animation, games and new media.
Experience production focused learning in a creative multi-disciplinary environment.
Initiate and lead creative projects
Pre-requisites:

An undergraduate degree or equivalent industry experience.
A screen story of any length or form that you have directed yourself. This includes fiction, non-fiction or a mixture; linear or nonlinear; and film, video or other digital and online forms. Technical excellence is not crucial.
