'' This unique course is designed for screenwriters, directors and producers to explore and develop essential and fundamental cinematic, storytelling and performance concepts and practices.

By the end of this course students will have had the opportunity to:

Discover and explore the dramatic and narrative principles and tools that are used to create screen stories.
Investigate and employ the visual and audio language specific to cinema and how this creates meaning.
Investigate and apply the actors�processes to understand how performance enriches story and how to work with actors to create performances
Investigate and apply director specific principles and tools used for visualizing a story.
Employ dramatic, narrative and cinematic principles and tools in the creation and development of a written screen project.
Analyse and apply to their own projects the key principles underlying intellectual copyright
Through this 16 week course, participants will undertake key exercises in performance and dramatic, cinematic and visual storytelling which they will apply to the development of a screen drama project of their own.

At the completion of the course, participants should have developed their initial idea for a screen drama project into a marketable proposal supported by a 1 pp synopsis and at least the first 15pp of a screenplay and a pitch presentation

This course runs for 16 weeks, 2 evenings a week and 6 weekends. The weekends are not consecutive

Pre-requisites

A desire and an ability to tell stories and generate original ideas
An undergraduate degree or equivalent
The ability to attend classes
