'' This is Australia’s first management qualification specially designed for media and screen professionals. The course aims to prepare students for practical engagement in media business as a producer, executive or owner. We offer a unique blend of creative, managerial and financial tuition - emphasizing the skill sets necesary for success in the contemporary media sector.

By the end of this course students will have had the opportunity to:

Develop a creative project, or business plan, or research project to an advanced stage under the guidance of a leading industry figure, and with the possibility of continuing to Masters level

Undertake advanced study in elective topics ranging from the art and business of storytelling, to an in depth study of subscription television led by Foxtel’s executive team, a hands-on course in setting up and running a creative business, and a strategic analysis of the lessons to be learned from 100 years of evolving Hollywood business practice

Collaborate with and build continuing productive business relationships with fellow students and industry peers.

Undertake advanced study in elective topics ranging from the art and business of storytelling, to an in depth study of subscription television led by Foxtel’s executive team, a hands-on course in setting up and running a creative business, and a strategic analysis of the lessons to be learned from 100 years of evolving Hollywood business practice

The course will be offered as a one-year part-time program and classes will be delivered via a series of weekend intensives (a program similar to the current CSB Graduate Certificate). This flexible design aims to attract a wider range of creative producers and media business practitioners.

As participants will be able continue their careers while studying, the course should appeal to individuals with industry experience who are keen to move up to the next level and diversify their areas of expertise. Direct engagement between coursework and external industry activity will also facilitate collegiate activities within the media industry.

Students will be exposed to the best contemporary business thinking and practice in our sector throughout the course; presenters are leaders in their respective disciplines, committed educators who deliver their teaching in an engaging way. Case studies and guest lectures by leading industry figures will provide up-to-the-moment currency.

Pre-requisites:

Applicants will have completed the Graduate Certificate: Business Administration (Creative Industries) or the the Graduate Certificate Screenwriting & Producing before applying for entry into this course
An undergraduate degree or equivalent
The ability to attend intensive classes
