'' A one day workshop focused on preparing professional short film budgets for funding applications
Covering basic scheduling, tips on using the Screen Australia A-Z short film budget and creating a budget including: getting quotes, working out cast and crew rates (both industry and award minimums) and where to source rates information such as superannuation, and workers compensation and insurances.
Tips will also be given on how to write useful producer and director statements and why the funding agencies ask for these items.
Perfect for any filmmaker intending to apply to a funding body for short film funding including Screen Australia and the PFTC.
By the end of this workshop participants will have had the opportunity to:
Investigate shoot scheduling and the different post production paths that are available Hear about the pros and cons of shooting on tape vs film and finishing on tape vs film Learn about mandatory inclusions for each particular funding agency and what funding agencies are looking for in applications Find out how to best allocate money and how to work with budgets in a creative way (including budgetary differences such as fully financed versus a smaller State funded grant) Investigate the best way to write a Director s statement and Producers statement and why funding bodies ask for these documents Pick up some tips on how to pitch/sell your project to best represent the team and script Find out why the script is so important
