Course Description:

'' This module deals with the study of fundamental principles of electricity as applied to automotive vehicle. The lesson covers the lighting system and all body electrical system of a car. Emphasis is given to disassembly and assembly of electrical components, including testing, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.

II. OBJECTIVES:

Upon the completion of the module, the participant must be able to:

1. Analyze, test and repair electrical component parts;
2. Assemble and disassemble electrical wiring system;
3. Diagnose/troubleshoot electrical wiring system; and,
4. Perform automotive body electrical circuit rewiring.

III. DURATION: 48 hours

IV. Prerequisite:

1. High School Graduate
2. Auto Engine Electrical

V. COMPETENCY LISTING:

1. Check fuses and relays.
2. Discuss circuit protective parts.
3. Discuss wire gauge/wire size.
4. Check and repair combination meter.
5. Check and repair dash board instrument.
6. Perform lighting circuit (combination switch).
7. Perform back up light circuit.
8. Perform stop lamp circuit.
9. Perform wiper electrical circuit.
10. Perform audio and power antenna electrical circuit.
11. Perform basic car air conditioning electrical circuit.
12. Check and perform power window and power mirror electrical circuit.
