'' This course deals with the study of automatic transmission and transaxle principles. Emphasis will be on automatic transmission overhauling, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair.

II. OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to:
1. Identify the basic parts of an automatic transmission;
2. Describe the operation of the major section of an automatic transmission;
3. Explain how automatic transmission shift gears; and,
4. Overhaul automatic transmission and transaxle.

III. DURATION: 60 hours

1. High school graduate
2. Basic car Maintenance

1. Disassemble automatic transmission and transaxle.
2. Check torque converter.
3. Check planetary gear unit.
4. Test hydraulic control system.
5. Test servo control unit.
6. Check planetary gear unit.
7. Check valve body.
