'' This short course is designed to assist students who have no or little experience in accounting, finance and lending. It also covers basic credit principles. The short course is suitable for Portfolio Managers, Business Analysts, and Credit and/or Relationship Managers. No prior knowledge, qualification or experience in credit is required. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS A knowledge, comprehension and application of the English language at NQF level 4 (Grade 12 or equivalent). Although not a requirement, it is preferable for a student to have completed the Milpark Business School Accounting Principles for Bankers short course. CERTIFICATION On successful completion of the programme, the student will receive a Short Course Certificate in Bank Credit Principles from Milpark Business School. This course is presented at NQF Level 5. EXIT-LEVEL OUTCOMES On completion of this course, the qualifying student will understand the various forms of trading entities and how they operate, the sources of finance available to such entities and the risks to which they are exposed. In addition, the elementary principles of bank credit (advances) and principles of acceptable security are addressed. PROGRAMME OUTLINE Risk Management. Balance Sheet. Principles of credit advances and acceptable security. Credit Facilities. Annual Financial Statements. Income Statement. Cash Flow Statement. ASSESSMENT Students are required to submit an assignment, which contributes 30% to the final mark. Students will write a final summative assessment at the end of the workshop week, which contributes 70% to the final mark. In order to pass the short course, students need to obtain at least 40% in the final summative assessment and an overall mark of at least 50%. DURATION This full-time short course duration is three days. It can also be presented on a part-time basis. ...''
