'' Novice users and those already somewhat familiar with Discreet Combustion gain knowledge of the capabilities of the software’s creative tools for paint, animation, editing, and 3-D compositing. Through demonstrations and exercises, participants learn to use Combustion in an integrated production environment. Instruction covers paint module; animating; linking and changing the surface properties of layers, channels, mattes, and masks; null objects; lights and cameras; tracking and stabilizing; keying and color correcting; nesting composites; .RPF files; and 2-D particles. Fulfills Digital Technologies/Convergence requirement in Certificate Program in Film, Television, and Digital Entertainment Media. Held in the UCLA Extension 1010 IBM Digital Media Lab; free weekday lab time is available. Visitors not permitted. ...''
