'' In contemporary electronica, groove is all important. Melody, harmony, timbre, and effects can all strengthen a piece, but without a compelling groove, most music sounds uninspired. This course is for groove-based composers who want their music to evolve beyond its current boundaries. All groove-based genres are welcome: house, techno, drum and bass, abstract, ambient, trance, or experimental. Instruction includes weekly lectures on such key groove topics as pulse, tempo, meter, beat, flow, and form. Participants submit .MP3s illustrating what they have learned in the lectures. For complete technical requirements. Fulfills Music Technology requirement in Certificate Program in Film Scoring. Elective Course in Certificate Program in Songwriting. ...''
