'' This course is an intensive introduction to Java programming for experienced C++ programmers, highlighting the similarities and differences from Java to C++ are highlighted. Through the use of lectures and hands- on labs, the student will gain practical experience in writing Java applications and applets for both stand-alone applications and web-based applets.

The Goal
This course goes far beyond an introduction to Java. It covers several advanced topics including Java Beans, Swing GUI components and some of the newer JDK1.2 features. After taking this course, you’ll appreciate why so many C++ programmers have converted to Java for large scale, application development. At the end of this course, you will be able to use your existing C++ and OO skills to build Java applications and applets. Your website will never be the same again! Pre-Requisites
Students must possess a working knowledge of C++. No previous experience with Java is required.
