Course Description:

'' This course is an intensive introduction to C++ and object oriented programming. Through the use of lectures and hands-on labs, students will gain practical experience in creating truly object oriented programs using the C++ language. The course is geared towards existing programmers who have been programming in COBOL, PASCAL, Assembler or other non-C languages. For newcomers to C and C++, many of the C++’s language features can prove to be challenging. This course is paced to reflect this audience. The C that is taught in this course is only a sub-set of the full C language. Many aspects of the C language foster bad programming habits. In addition, many aspects of C are geared for procedural programs, rather than object oriented ones. This course starts with a thorough introduction to the object oriented aspects of C. The course then continues with the C++ syntax and techniques required to properly write object oriented programs in C++.

The Goal
At the end of this course, you will be able to start doing object oriented programming using the power of C++.

Pre-Requisites
Students must possess knowledge of any programming language. A familiarity or reading knowledge of C is beneficial, but not required. A reading knowledge of OO technology is also beneficial, but not required.
