'' Arriving at a fresh, unique solution to an art or design challenge requires new ways of thinking and seeing. Association, experimentation, play, and discovery are indispensable tools in the creative processes. This course sets out to challenge preconceived notions of creativity and problem-solving and sets up a context for the student to find unique approaches to each assignment--resulting in one-of-a-kind, conceptually intriguing, and visually powerful work. This experimental art and design course revolves around personal projects as well as critiques and discussion. Students are free to work in whatever format and medium they choose.
