Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' This course examines active server pages (ASP) that allow the creation of database-powered Web sites. ASP do not need to be updated manually since they can be coded to change when the underlying database changes. Topics include IIS on Windows, creating a DSN using ODBC, ASP, VBScript, HTML, ADO, and SQL Server. After learning the basics, Dreamweaver MX (formerly UltraDev,) is used as a code generator to create additional pages as well as to code pages in PHP using MySQL on an Apache Web server. Students create an actual Web site that relies on a database for its content. The pages created are capable of selecting, updating, or inserting new database records. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to produce a viable online site for the Internet or a company intranet using the skills learned. Prerequisite: Proficiency in HTML or SQL or at least one programming language. Enrollment limited. ...''
