'' This unique program is designed to immerse participants in Japan’s important and historic martial art Karate and the Japanese Language. Karate, literally translating as "the way of the empty hand" emphasizes attack and defense skills without a weapon. This art is believed to date back as long as 1,000 years ago and has been connected to Bodhidharma. Karate is also recognized as being developed in Okinawa as an indigenous form of closed fist fighting.
