This course focuses on the core elements of analog and digital formats, in general and as they relate to the Avid. Students learn to equate and measure levels between the formats as well as signal flow, A/D conversions, and sample rates. The standard concept of a mixer and the path sound takes moving through it will be discussed as well as Avid audio tools, settings, Digidesign plug-ins and EQ. Handing-off sound to another facility through OMFs, EDLs and consolidation will be explained, along with ADR, foley, and mixing.
