'' Amaze your friends! Astound your colleagues! Baffle your nephew! Have you ever wanted to build an interactive art installation? Have you ever wondered how LEDs, sensors and motors work? Ready to take your kinetic works to the next level?
Using Arduino, an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, cheap, and easy-to-use hardware and software, you’ll learn to create interactive objects or environments. In this class, students will experiment with the Arduino’s capabilities and learn the basics of common microcontroller interfacing, such as: digital output to control lights and LEDs, digital input to read switches and buttons, analog output to control motor position or LED brightness, and analog input to read sensor inputs. You’ll also make the Arduino communicate with multimedia software such as Max/MSP to create interactive audio and video applications. This class assumes no prior knowledge of electronics or or programming. However, you should know how to use a computer. And if you have a Windows or Mac laptop, bring it to the class--popularity may demand sharing a workstation. Bring a project idea and our can-do instructor will help you build the blueprint to the trippy project you’ve dreamed of executing!
