'' Some of the spectacular scientific discoveries of the twentieth century have found applications that have revolutionized the field of criminalistics. Prominent among these is the technique of DNA fingerprinting. DNA fingerprinting, like many other contemporary forensic methods, is based on complex and sophisticated science which often confuses the lay person. The purpose of this course is to demystify this technique by explaining in simple and direct language, the scientific basis of DNA fingerprinting. ...''
