'' You will be introduced to systems engineering; the nature of systems and systems engineering; systems engineering processes and infrastructure; and systems life cycle. Terminology will be stressed as well as tools and techniques. Topics to be covered: - Introduction to systems and systems engineering - Developing requirements and specifications - Developing system architecture - Managing system data and configuration - System design and development - Integrating engineering specialties - System cost estimation and control - Tradeoff analysis - Integration, verification and validation The class will benefit students from any engineering discipline: hardware, software, specialty etc. The entire SE process as indicated in the NASA SE Handbook and standards 632 and 1220 will be covered. The class is also compliant with CMMI. ...''
