'' The foundation of interpretation is translation; therefore, a solid base in translation is crucial to fully developing translation and interpreting skills. This class provides an overview of the nature and characteristics of translation, its high standards for accuracy in meaning, register, tone and style, and its impact on the value of documents undergoing translation. Class activities will enable you to identify the skills needed to translate a particular document, break it down for translation, conduct basic research, and demonstrate good business practices and ethics in doing so.
