'' This class is designed for individuals with minimal or no medical background. You will develop a working knowledge of medical terminology and gain a basic understanding of related anatomy and physiology to function effectively when interpreting in a health care setting. You will learn to identify root words, prefixes and suffixes and combined forms of English and Spanish medical terms. Terminology associated with frequent medical conditions encountered in a variety of clinical settings, symptoms, diagnoses and treatment options will also be examined. Special emphasis is placed on visualization techniques and learning terminology in context to help individuals retain what they are learning. ...''
