'' This hands-on Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) program is an opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge to become an entry-level hardware and network technician. Topics will include networking fundamentals; connecting to a WAN; basic security and wireless concepts; routing and switching fundamentals; the TCP/IP and OSI models; IP addressing; WAN technologies; operating and configuring IOS devices; configuring RIPv2, static and default routing; implementing NAT and DHCP; and configuring simple networks.
Taught by certified practicing professionals in state-of-the-art computer labs, classes in the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician Certificate will help you build your skill sets to move forward in real world computing careers. In addition, these classes will help you prepare for the certification exam.
The Certificate in Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) consists of one required course totaling 40 hours of lecture and hands-on instruction. 4.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded to the certificate graduate.
Program Objective This program focuses on development of the skills and knowledge necessary to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small branch office enterprise network, including configuring a switch, a router, connecting to a WAN and implementing network security. On completion of the program, you will be able to complete the configuration and implementation of a small branch office network under supervision, as well as gain knowledge and skills needed to prepare for the CCENT exam. On completion of the program you will understand: - How networks function - Network components and their functions - Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) reference model - Binary, decimal, and hexadecimal numbering - Switching operations and theory - Host-to-Host packet delivery process - TCP/IP network addressing and routing - IP subnetting - Providing Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and remote access services - Advanced network theory, including Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Content Delivery Networks (CDN), Intranets and extranets, and wireless networking - Introduction to Cisco Internet Operating System (IOS) - Initial configuration of Cisco Catalyst Switches and Routers - Network discovery and management using Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP), telnet, and Trivial FTP (TFTP)
