'' The industrial controls training in this program will help professional and technical personnel increase their competencies, and position themselves to contribute to project teams tasked with implementing and modernizing automation/control systems. The training in the Certificate in Industrial Controls Technology is endorsed by the Instrument Society of America, Orange County Section.
The industrial controls technology job market is among the fastest growing for technical professionals. Today’s manufacturing and business environments require continued investment in automation technology to ensure competitive capabilities, quality and productivity.
Developing abilities to identify, implement, support and modernize these industrial control assets appropriately can have a direct impact on production capabilities (sales) and deficiencies (costs).
Curriculum content and hands-on laboratory experiences prepare you to evaluate control elements of manufacturing systems. The industrial controls training in this program is an opportunity to obtain knowledge and practice in several key technical areas such as:
-Principles of automatic control
-Instrumentation
-Data acquisition systems
-Programmable logic and computer-based controllers
-Practical applications of process and environmental controls
-Discrete manufacturing and material handling systems
-Plant networks
Instructors for these industrial controls training classes are highly-qualified practitioners in the field who have outstanding credentials and who are members of, or have recommendations from, the Instrument Society of America.
The Certificate in Industrial Controls Technology consists of 132 hours of lecture and hands-on laboratory instruction. 13.2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded to the certificate graduate.
Eligibility
Students beginning the Certificate in Industrial Controls Technology are required to have:
- Computer proficiency in a Windows environment
- Access to and ability to use the Internet to obtain class materials, and communicate with instructors
- A four-function calculator
- A basic understanding of algebra
In addition, some related industry experience is recommended.
