Course Description:

'' This is a unique online, examination-based course designed to prepare qualified candidates to pass the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT) examination. This course combines Instructional Systems Development (ISD) methodology with sample examinations to introduce and review the "required knowledges" tested by the NRRPT. Knowledge areas include:

Fundamentals,
Detection and Measurements, and
Applied Radiation Protection.
Course content is based upon the Role Delineation constructed by the NRRPT Panel of Examiners in 1987 and reissued by the NRRPT Board of Directors in 1991. The U.S. Department of Energy encourages NRRPT registration for Radiological Control Technicians in 10 CFR 835 Implementation Guide G-10 CFR 835/J1, Radiation Safety Training, and DOE/EH-0256T, Radiological Control Manual. NRRPT registration is recognized by the NRC and INPO as a radiation protection "good practice".

This course helps prepare you for the examination; it is not the actual exam. The NRRPT administers the examination in February and August of each year on the first Saturday of the month. The examination consists of 150 multiple choice questions and must be completed within four hours.
