'' The International Business Certificate is designed for those who plan to work for an importer, an exporter or for a firm that has operations outside of the United States. The Certificate offers timely and timeless information on international markets and current trends in international business. Generally, every business deals with international relations in some shape or form; thus, knowledge of international business will be of high value to students and prospective employers. Students gain practical experience by participating in international business projects and class lectures, as well as by exploring current market information. In addition, the coursework covers products, services and investment opportunities, as well as potential business relationships such as agencies, distributorships, joint ventures, licensing and franchising.
Core material of the International Business Certificate includes:
International financial environment, international monetary system, and the impact on the economy
Foreign exchange market
Measuring and managing foreign exchange risk
Understanding of international interrelationships in the economy
Interrelationship between core business competencies and how management pulls these relationships together in a global environment
Understanding that all firms are impacted by global economic changes
Application of investment and financing decisions
General knowledge of the role of marketing in diverse social environments (cultures) and diverse political entities (nations and regions)
