'' Ethernet as a Carrier-Grade Technology is a two day course covering the features, functionality and benefits of Ethernet to transport high-speed, high-quality traffic. This course is intended for individuals who need to understand the business and technical issues of next generation Ethernet. If you are a Planner, Sales Engineer, Field Engineer, or a Network Designer in the Service Provider, Manufacturer, or Cable TV space this course is for you.
This course addresses hot issues such as how to make Ethernet even more efficient in response to the current users requirements. Additionally, the ineffectiveness of Ethernet OA&M abilities is pushing the telecommunications industry to provide methods to mitigate known Ethernet problems.
The course provides a detailed analysis and comparison of various techniques of carrying Ethernet frames. The techniques shown resolve a variety of problems previously seen with Ethernet such as inefficient network recovery, signal monitoring issues and others. The course investigates a variety of Ethernet product vendors and Ethernet service providers. The conclusions are very important for anybody involved in todays data networks operations, design, maintenance and administration.
