'' The degree as a certified accountant (MSc in Business Economics and Auditing - cand.merc.aud. in Danish) is a research-based, postgraduate, theoretical degree at a graduate level.
The purpose of this degree is to provide students with a basic knowledge of the accounting trade and to strengthen the students within the theory of accounting.
You are given the theoretical tools to solve the problems that an accountant might encounter. These skills are gained by focusing on the basic, specialised aspects, so you will be able to independently acquire, produce and utilise new knowledge; as well as in collaboration with others, who are able to solve transverse problems.
Degree as a certified accountant The degree as a certified accountant is now combined with a MSc in Business Economics and Auditing. The theoretical part consists of the first year on MSc in Business Economics and Auditing, as well as a final written assignment, which is to be written on a theme relevant to working as an accountant. The assignment consists of 10 ECTS. You do not have to decide in advance, whether you want to finish your MSc in Business Economics and Auditing, or whether you would rather just finish the theoretical part of the education as a certified accountant.
Qualification as a certified accountant In order to be qualified, you have to have finished the education as a certified accountant; you have to have worked for three years with a certified accountant. Then you may take the qualification exam for certified accountants �arranged by the Accountants�Commission.
Certification as an accountant In order to achieve certification you have to have worked for three years with a certified accountant, as well as having finished your MSc in Business Economics and Auditing. As a minimum two of the years have to be right after your graduate exam.Then you may take the exam to become a certified accountant. This exam will be arranged by the Commission for Accountants and consists of a written and a verbal test.. ...''
