Ideal for career changers, this week-long program will give you the fundamentals of cooking, including knife skills, kitchen terminology, and cooking methods. You’ll also explore various cooking techniques as you journey through the culinary traditions and cuisines of the Caribbean, Asia, Mexico, and the Mediterranean.
Through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on production in our kitchens, you will:
Increase your knowledge of the foodservice industry Don chefs whites in our dynamic professional teaching kitchens, getting a taste of basic techniques and culinary practices Learn how the practice of fundamental cooking skills spans many culinary traditions, from Caribbean barbecued jerk to Persian roast chicken Participate in a workshop on herbs and seasonal produce in our Cannard Herb Garden and Sutter Home Organic Garden (weather and season permitting). ...''
