'' Like to take a trip to Asia, but don’t have the time? Well, we’re bringing a taste of Asia right here to our Hyde Park campus for you to experience. The only catch is that you’re going to have to work for it…after all, this is no picnic, this is boot camp.

With each intensive day you’ll get to experience the cuisines of different Asian countries and regions- from India in the southwest- to China, Japan, and Korea in the northeast, and Thailand and Vietnam in the southeast. You’ll soon become familiar with the common bonds that all Asian cuisines share and the distinct ingredients, dishes, flavor profiles, and cooking techniques that differentiate them from each other, and distinguish them from all other global cuisines.

By the end of this rigorous class, you’ll no longer be intimidated by the assorted and daunting variety of items that await you in your local Asian market or restaurant. You’ll be an experienced camper ready for the next challenge ahead�

During the CIA’s five-day Asian Cuisine Boot Camp, you will:
dine in four of the CIA’s on-campus public restaurants

view a sushi demonstration and participate in sushi tastings

participate in a lecture and tasting of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Asian beverages

learn the differences between authentic and adapted Asian dishes and participate in a demonstration and tasting featuring adapted items

tour the CIA campus

When you enlist in Asian Cuisine Boot Camp, we’ll supply you with two chef’s uniforms, each with a jacket, pants, and neckerchief. Paper chef’s hats, side towels, and aprons will be provided in class.
