'' In addition to developing an understanding of academic debates and arguments you also have the chance to demonstrate practical skills through placements and practical projects.
In year one, the course covers six topics: cultural management, cultural policy, arts marketing, finance, personal management and research. In years two and three, you can shape the degree to your needs. Options include Events Management, Heritage and Museums, The Music Industry and The Media Industry.
The course also provides opportunities to undertake work placements. Recent placements have included: the Glastonbury Festival, Musik Podium (Stuttgart), Royal National Theatre, Royal Opera House, Ikon Gallery and Kemet Radio.
Teaching/assessment International students come to study in the UK because the quality of our teaching is the best in the world. In addition to formal lectures by staff and visiting arts managers and artists, we also utilise case study analysis/discussion, student-led debates and presentations and group work. All Arts Management students attend and evaluate arts and cultural events as a basis for study and discussion. Assessment is through coursework, or occasionally through formal examination or time-based exercises.
