Course Description:

'' In year one, you will study modules which introduce cultural policy and arts marketing, acting, scripting and directing, and the study of drama in its historical and cultural contexts. More specialised options are available in year two, including modules that concentrate on audience development, venue management, and devising, naturalist and anti-naturalist performance, Shakespeare, the carnivalesque, and contemporary drama. There is also the opportunity for a three week industry placement. Modules in year three encourage the development of your interests through performance and research projects. You can also study event management as part of the Cultural Exchanges Festival alongside modules in live art, popular theatre and writing for performance.

The programme is taught by staff with recognised expertise in research, practice, theatre production and venue management. You have the opportunity to work with professional practitioners and industry specialists. Theatre visits, field trips and links to local theatres and companies reflect the diversity of the curriculum.

Teaching/assessment
Include workshops, lectures, seminars, work placements and self-directed study. Work is assessed through reports, exams, performance, essays, logbooks and presentations.
