'' Good quality and well-fitting garments are key to any consumer and this course will provide you with the skills to ensure the highest standards are met.
Gain knowledge and understanding of the fashion design process as well as developing your ability to progress garments through the product development stages. Gain information about the variety of processes used by the fashion business, such as critical path management.
Our excellent facilities include multiple Lectra CAD/CAM pattern development workstations, a dedicated textile design CAD suite including Illustrator and Photoshop software, fabric production labs, a weave CAD/CAM centre and excellent product performance workshops. The course has strong links with the fashion business and is supported by guest lectures and work placement opportunities as well as project briefs set by industry.
First year modules include Fashion Technology, Pattern Technology, Textile Materials and Visual Communication. In the second year you will study Pattern and Fashion Technology, Commercial Processes, Textile Finishes and Product Performance.
Teaching/assessment
The course is made up of practically-based modules supported by lectures and tutorials.
