'' The course introduces you to the academic, professional, industrial and commercial challenges of design practice. Close liaison with industry leads to companies running live projects, factory visits and work experience placements, and providing visiting speakers, competition prizes and sponsorship. Typical modules include Contour Design and Illustration, Pattern Cutting and Making for Bodywear and Lingerie, CAD for Fashion and Textiles, Design and Production for Corsets Sportswear and Swimwear, Bra Construction, Contour Garment Technology, Designing for an External Client, Major Design Project.
Teaching/assessment Teaching includes formal lectures, group seminars, tutorials, presentations, practical workshops and studio-based activities. Assessment generally occurs at the end of each term with informal critiques held at appropriate times throughout the year.
