'' The Master’s in Creative Technologies brings together e-Science, the Digital Arts and Design and Humanities in a way that crosses traditional disciplines and boundaries, encouraging innovation and developing new modes of collaboration in e-Science and digital arts research.
The course has been carefully designed to support you in developing and strengthening your individual creative technologies practice in the increasingly collaborative digital world of the 21st century. This unique MA/MSc, based at the Institute of Creative Technologies, puts DMU at the forefront of teaching and learning in this area, as well as a catalyst for innovative research. The Master’s in Creative Technologies is broad in range and flexible in structure. The course consists of a range of modules across the subject areas of Art and Design, Technology and Humanities as well as research training relating to creative technologies research practice. You will, in consultation with the programme leader and subject tutors, also choose a Major Project topic, which allows you to pursue a particular area of interest.
The course will encourage reflection on creative technologies in the 21st century giving a critical, cultural and contextual understanding of the area as well as practical expertise through a range of project-based modules. You can choose from a range of modules, for example, Advances in Modern Lens-Based Media, Creative Digital Media Design, Nature of Creativity, Gaming Technologies, Applied Computational Intelligence, Computer Aided Design, Rapid Prototyping, Reverse Engineering, Virtual Engineering, Interactive Media and Applications, Aesthetics and Ideas of Sonic Art, Creative Writing and New Media, Digital Cultures, and Performance Technologies.
