'' Entry requirements
You must have good health and be able to physically carry out the practical activities associated with the professional role as described by the General Dental Council requirements for statutory registration of Professions Complementary to Dentistry.
Normally you will need:
Either (A) the BTEC National Award in Dental Technology or equivalent showing basic practical competence and background or (B) be able to carry out basic dental laboratory tasks, and therefore be able to achieve the set test in the first week in September each year covering basic practical aspects To demonstrate competence in oral and written English Proof of ability to work in a specific dental laboratory environment through either work experience of at least three weeks in the last year or employment as a dental technician trainee and participation in an awareness raising sessions taken at the college, prior to enrolment A commitment to carrying out the 500 hours per year real work-based development activity To take and achieve the pre-course assessment. ...''
