Training Course:TelecommunicationsSchool/Trainer:De Montfort University Leicester, United Kingdom
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' In the first year you will study modules in communication systems, analog and digital electronics and engineering design underpinned by a strong mathematics content. Year two builds on these subjects and adds specialist modules relating to the specific requirements of telecommunications and networked systems. Other elements of the second year include electromagnetics and project management.
It is a common first year shared with our Electronic Engineering and Electronic Engineering (Broadcast Systems) degrees. This allows you to start the course and make the decision to specialise at the end of the first year once you have a feel for the areas of specialism that may interest you.
An optional paid industrial placement year is available. This is usually sandwiched between the second year and the final year. It is designed to enable you to gain valuable relevant work experience, thereby placing you one step up the ladder for securing a job following graduation.
The main themes for the final year are mobile communication, communication networks, together with a study of the design of high frequency systems and the design of high speed digital systems. A major individual project completes the academic study.
Teaching/assessment This course uses a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials/group works, computer lab sessions and self-directed study.
