Course Description:

'' The course is designed to provide you with an understanding of products and processes used in the fashion industry. This is supported by visiting speakers from the industry, including major high street fashion retailers, as well as guidance with research projects. The course provides the technical and management skills to meet the demands of a career in the fashion industry.

Our excellent specialist facilities include multiple Lectra CAD/CAM pattern development workstations, a dedicated design CAD suite including Illustrator and Photoshop software, fabric production labs, a weave CAD/CAM centre and excellent product performance workshops. Local and national industry support the course with materials, equipment and guest lectures, as well as providing project briefs and support.

First year modules cover: Fashion Technology, Pattern Technology, Textile Materials and Visual Communications.

In the second year you will develop your knowledge and skills from year one and study Technical Design Development, Commercial Processes and Textile Finishes including Product Performance.

You have the opportunity of a one year industrial placement, generally working at the head office of a high street retailer.

The final year involves three modules: New Horizons, Prototype and Product Development and a dissertation.
