Course Description:
'' The course combines individual subject areas to provide the knowledge and technical skills for high level multimedia design. You will graduate with a portfolio of work which demonstrates your talent across the following areas:
Interactive Interface Design includes website design, on-line retailing, information design and electronic publishing
Broadcast Design covers the design of TV graphics, broadcast station ID, animation for children’s television and interactive interface for digital television
Digital Sound Design underpins all other areas of multimedia design to create dynamic media
Multimedia Performance deals with the creation of interactive environments, for example in nightclubs, museums, art galleries, concerts and conferences.
Teaching/assessment
Teaching is delivered primarily through seminars and lectures. External lecturers and industrial partners also input to seminars and workshops and set assignments. Extensive use is made of the University’s Virtual Leaning Environment to support learning and to submit work for critique and assessment.
Assessments include design reports and regular presentations of artwork and practical projects. Guidance on producing a professional portfolio is given by external partners.
