Course Description:

'' The course covers a wide range of image-making closely related to graphic design practice including drawing, printmaking, visual problem solving and digitally-produced imagery.

In year one, you will identify your personal image-making preferences and strengths, while developing your creativity and illustrative techniques. Year two concentrates increasingly on project work which further
develops the ability to provide creative solutions to illustration briefs, sometimes through self-initiated work. Throughout the course you will learn about the professional and industrial context for your practice, as well as the history of art and design practice.

Teaching/assessment
You will participate in a range of lectures, seminars, discussion groups and practical workshops. Projects, both individual and group, are supported by tutors either on a one-to-one or small group basis. You are encouraged and supported to become an independent learner and ?self starter? in your work since this is a requirement in the professional practice of illustration. Assessment is continuous throughout the course, with specialist staff providing formative feedback as your work develops, as well as detailed commentary and critiques of finished work.
