'' If you are interested in the wider world around you, are concerned about questions of contemporary global order and justice, have a passion for world issues such as human rights and the environment and want to learn about the politics behind the headlines then this is the course for you.
Year one invites you to explore the main concepts in International Relations and Politics. You also study comparative politics and the impact of globalisation.
Year two allows you to investigate key issues in Contemporary International Relations Theory and Political Thought. Optional modules include the politics of the European Union, environmental politics and US Government.
Year three allows for greater specialisation as well as independent learning. You have the opportunity to write a dissertation on a topic of your choice. Optional modules include the Politics of the Middle East, international security and the American Presidency.
You can also specialise in either International Relations or Politics as a joint honours degree with another subject Options are also available to study either subject with History, Journalism, Law or Media. All of these joint honours routes have been carefully selected, as they complement each other both academically and professionally.
