Course Description:
'' This degree provides a thorough understanding of marketing methods and international marketing issues as well as international business knowledge. The first year of the course is common with other business degrees and introduces the basic principles of business, management, finance and marketing. Modules studied in the first year include Business Communications and Analysis, Financial Decision Making, Business Environment, New Business Creation, Organisational Behaviour and Principles of Marketing.
The second and third years offer a range of marketing and business modules with an international focus. Core modules might include European Business Issues, International Marketing, Brand Management and Global Marketing Strategies. Optional modules could include e-Marketing, Marketing Analysis, Marketing Research, Marketing Communications, Advertising and Promotion, Interactive and Direct Marketing, Marketing of Services, Creative Action in Organisations, e-Business, Customer Relationship Management and Business Law.
The Department of Marketing offers three marketing-related degrees, including this one. The others, which you may like to also consider, are Advertising BA Honours and Marketing Management BA Honours. Marketing can also be studied as a Joint Honours degree and combined with subjects like Computing, HRM, Law, Management, Media Studies or Psychology.
Teaching/assessment
Teaching will be delivered through formal lectures, more informal seminars, tutorials, workshops and e-learning packages. Assessment will usually be through a combination of individual and groups work, presentations, essays, reports and examinations.
