'' Few businesses can escape the effect of global forces on their operations and employers worldwide are looking for people with a knowledge and understanding of the global and international business environment. If you are concerned about, or interested in, how trade agreements have brought nations closer together, relationships between national and multinational businesses and supplier nations, the impact of global governance on local, regional, national and multinational business, challenges to national cultural identity and social problems associated with globalisation and the consequences of particular business operations on the environment, then this could be the course for you.
This course offers essential knowledge and skills for a career in business management - in the UK or internationally - together with an understanding of the process of globalisation.
The first year is a foundation, setting the context in which businesses operate and introducing global issues alongside fundamental business skills. Years two and three develop global and international analysis and a choice of options allows for specialisation in areas such as politics, finance, HRM or economics. Other options offer topics such as e-business, business law and environmental issues.
This course represents an exciting alternative to more conventional Business Studies degrees by offering an international perspective and providing an opportunity to study aspects of globalisation. An understanding of the globalisation process can help managers to plan more strategically and effectively and is essential for business survival.
