Course Description:

'' The MBA brings to the fore current thinking in management education and will develop critical thinkers with effective problem solving skills at managerial level. An induction covers the fundamentals of management education - a refresher for business graduates or an introduction for non-business graduates. Core modules then broaden and critically examine key business and management fundamentals, integrated by modules in strategic management, the linchpin modules equipping participants with the ability to think conceptually and holistically.

The core modules will comprise:

Strategic Management I
Understanding Contemporary Organisations
Markets and Marketing
Corporate Performance Management
Strategic Management II
Research Methodology.
In addition to the academic modules you will also undertake workshops on Critical Skills and Reflective Practice. You will also undertake optional modules, allowing for focus in a particular field such as finance, HRM or marketing, or a more general management focus. The choice of optional modules/electives will comprise (as at date of publication):

Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Customer Relationship Management
Risk Management
Project Management
Public Private Interface
Managing Organisational Change
Managing e-Business
Globalisation
International HRM
International Marketing and Ethics
Strategic and Financial Decision-making
International Finance
Entrepreneurial Organisations
Managing Complexity, Uncertainty and Conflict
Managing Advertising and Communications
Business Ethics, Environment and Society.
Further to the taught element you will also be expected to undertake either a traditional research-based dissertation or a 12 week strategic management in-company project based at a UK company or organisation. Should you choose the dissertation you will complete two electives from the above list, and if you choose an in-company project you will select four electives.
