Course Description:
'' Year 1 - Basic biomedical science subjects and essential research skills. Anatomy and physiology, biochemistry and genetics. A separate module on health informatics teaches desk-top research skills. Basic laboratory skills and techniques are taught in laboratory sessions.
Year 2 - Core medical subjects. Modules include clinical investigation, pathology and immunology. Additional modules on evidence based medicine, project management and statistics provide professional skills relevant to health and medicine.
Year 3 - Advanced medical subjects. Clinical genetics, advanced pathology, pharmacology and toxicology. A separate module provides insight into health service management principles. You will complete an individual research project working alongside a member of academic staff.
