'' This course introduces Adobe InDesign, a design and page layout tool for creative professionals. In this three-day class you will learn the basics of page layout, how to create text and import text and graphics. You’ll understand how text wraps around graphics and how to link text from one page to another. Production shortcuts are discussed and exercises are used extensively to reinforce the skills learned.

By the end of the class, you will be able to:

Quickly navigate the InDesign¡¯s desktop and your document
Create new documents, defining the page sizes, columns and margins
Create text frames for typing and importing text
Resize and move text and graphic frames
Utilize kerning, tracking, and baseline shift
Alter fonts with vertical and horizontal scale for creative effects
Thread and unthread text frames
Spell check documents
Understand the differences between bit-mapped and vector graphics
Add picture frames and import graphics
Scale and rotate graphics and know when to use these options
Wrap text around graphics
Draw Basic shapes, lines, arrows and polygons
Show multiple views of active documents
Create frame borders and backgrounds surrounding reversed text
Produce, edit and use style sheets for rapid formatting of text
Format paragraphs for readability and consistency
Rapidly edit your document with Find and Change
Understand Ruler guides for exact placement of items on the page
Add colors to items using the Color Swatch palette and by creating blends
Collect your documents, art and fonts for delivery to a service provider
