'' This course is designed to give you the fundamentals necessary to begin correcting and altering your images for print, multimedia, and Internet production. The primary focus is getting your image into the computer properly, isolating parts of an image for correction, and preparing the image to achieve a good final output. When you finish the course you will be able to:
Determine the proper resolution for scanning images and adjust scanner settings to produce a good scan Properly alter size and resolution of your images Crop images Perform simple color correction Identify the highlight, shadows, and midtones in an image Properly change the contrast and brightness of an image Analyze when anti-alias is beneficial and when it is not Create simple composite images and manage layers Rotate, skew and scale objects Alter and save active selections Create drop shadows and other effects on text and images Blur out background objects Sharpen all or part of an image Create soft and hard edge effects Apply text to an image and reformat it Change the color of an object in your image Make objects "pop" by altering its saturation value.
