'' This course focuses on creating special effects and composites of your images. It does not try to teach you every possible effect that can be created in Photoshop, but is designed to give you a solid foundation in how many effects are achieved, so that you can begin creating your own. This course is not designed for beginners. It is assumed that you can: scan images properly, select parts of an image by shape and color, correctly alter the contrast and brightness of an image, and that you are familiar with the color models and color correction techniques.
When you finish the class you will be able to:
Create complicated composite images
Make parts of composite images appear transparent through masking without permanently altering images
Use advanced selection techniques such as Color Range
Explore the Pen tool by creating and editing Vector paths
Use path selection tools to manipulate existing paths
Make use of the Paths palette
Produce Vector Shapes and Clipping Paths
Use Pathfinder options for Shapes
Create and save custom shapes
Utilize Layers Styles
Investigate the many uses of Layer Sets
Use Knockout Layers to control transparency
Apply special effects and corrections using Adjustment Layers
Use effects across multiple layers
Understand how Layer Blending Modes blends several images into one
Blend texture from one image into another with Blending Range
Apply and alter lighting effects
Create various special effects such as embossing, bevels, and glows
Create a transparency and gradient effect with composite images
