'' This course is designed to achieve the ITIL Practitioner’s Certificate in Release and Control. The course follows on from the ITIL Foundation Certificate and is for people who are interested in becoming specialists in the processes involved in implementing and managing all aspects of change in their environment. The course covers the practical implications of what is often called the “greater change role�(i.e. Change Management, Release Management and Configuration Management).
Class size is a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 16 people.
Skills Gained: After completing this course, students will understand how to apply the principles and theory discussed in the ITIL Foundation Certificate course where it relates to the Release and Control processes. The participants will understand the detail and practical implications of managing these processes using the ITIL Best Practice framework as a guide.
Key Topics: In the context of the Release and control processes, the following topics will be covered; Managing �Planning the key activities, reporting on these key activities, and initiating actions to ensure that these key activities meet their set objectives �Planning the exchange of appropriate information between the processes Organising �Organising the exchange of appropriate information with other processes. �Providing the appropriate information to the other IT Service Management �processes, users and suppliers. �Maintaining relevant procedures Controlling �Maintaining the Configuration Management database (CMDB) �Providing instructions for designing, building and configuring releases. �Advising on the back-out and test plans for changes and releases. �Planning the implementation of releases. �Monitoring the logistics (storage, transport, deployment and/or delivery, implementation) of releases. �Coordinating and monitoring changes (including preparing and taking part in Change Advisory Board meetings). Optimising �Monitoring and optimising the Release and Control processes. �Identifying and proposing improvements, based on results of monitoring and/or reviews. �Planning and conducting change, release and configuration audits. ...''
